Dear Sirs,
We need stainless steel fittings for Malta.
Stainless Steel Fittings
1. The fittings are to be suitable for potable water use and are to be used on cold water applications
2. they shall be manufactured by the lost wax process or sand cast and the composition of the stainless steel is to be in accordance with EN 1.4401.
3. the working pressure shall be a minimum of 16 bar and the fittings are to pass a test of 48 bar at a temperature of not more than 30°C.
4. the fittings are to be threaded to BSP (British Standard Pipe Thread) taper and parallel thread forms – BSP taper threaded to BS 21:1985, ISO 7.1; BSP parallel threaded to EN ISO 288-1:003 and EN 288-2:2003.
5. The fittings shall preferably be manufactured to ISO 4144 standard. Other similar standards may also be considered. Vendor is to state clearly the standards according to which the fittings are manufactured as well as the manufacturing process used.
6. the distance between the centre lines of two tees joined together by a nipple, with the nipple tightened, should not be less than 10mm.
7. Only suppliers who have in operation at their manufacturing facilities a quality assurance system in accordance with ISO 9001:2000 or equivalent, with certification for both design and manufacture functions, will be considered. For this reason, manufacturers are to submit certifications to this regard from accredited inspectors.
